Bring your worries and fears to Me – and then lay them down, and let Me carry the burden. Come to Me, and let Me give you rest. I want you to trust Me, knowing that I will keep you close to Me, and I will uphold you with My hand – no matter how dark the days become and no matter how much chaos surrounds you. You have trusted Me all these years and I have never failed you!
But when you start to worry it is like when I called Peter to come out on the water and he started to look at the waves and the wind, and he started to sink. If Peter had kept his eyes on Me and trusted that despite what his senses told him, despite the laws of nature, that I had called him to walk out on the water. And as he obeyed Me then I performed the miracle and caused him to do what to man is impossible. (Matthew 14:22-33)
I have called you to follow Me. I have called you to trust Me for My guidance and direction and supply. And I have never failed you. Yes, you have gone through some hard times and times when I greatly tested you. But I want you to remember that I am your Shepherd and you will never want – you will never lack. That is My promise to you. And even though you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I am with you! My rod and my staff will always be there to comfort you. And goodness and mercy will follow you all the days of your life, and you will dwell with Me in My house forever. (Psalm 23)
