Prayer is an excellent way to put spiritual principles to use in your practical life, because you’re getting Me to work for you. When you pray, it’s like tilling the ground before going in to sow the seeds, so that you’ll achieve the best results. Or, for another example, it’s like using a bulldozer to prepare the ground instead of rushing in with a little hand hoe. In every aspect of the work at hand, you could accomplish more if you chose to use the spiritual tools that I’ve given you.
But that’s very hard to do, because working through prayer doesn’t often have immediate effects in the physical. You can feel as if it isn’t accomplishing much, or not as much as physically working on a project yourself. But that’s an illusion. When you don’t take time to pray, to commit things to Me, to commune with Me, your priorities aren’t as aligned as they should be, so you can wind up missing the mark, or having to redo, rework, refigure, or try something else, and things can take a lot more time in the long run than they might have needed to.
