A Strong Tree

Jun 18, 2026 | Trials & Tests

When I look at you I see a mighty and strong oak tree, rooted deep in the ground. You’re a tree planted by the rivers of water, bringing forth fruit. You have withstood the storms of time, and you’ve been through some pretty tough battles. The winds of adversity have tried to uproot you, but in spite of all that, you have stayed solidly and firmly planted in the ground.

Yes, I know, some of your branches seem to be crooked from being tossed to and fro throughout your life with the storms and winds that have come your way. You feel you do not stand as tall as others around you, but that’s not how I see you. I see more than the bark and branches. I look at your roots, as that is where the source of nourishment comes from. Yours are deeply rooted in the ground, to the point that nothing will move you.

I want to encourage you that all that I have brought you through was not in vain. Every storm was actually a token of My love, because through all the battles of life, we have become so much closer and intertwined. I love you more than words can tell, and I’ve been with you throughout each and every rough spot. Like a gardener, I have tended to you with so much love and care.

I know it did not always seem like love or encouragement, but once you came through all the pruning and trimming, you were so much stronger. My love flowed, and continues to flow, through your very being.
