There is a time to engage in action, but there is also a time to take a different kind of action—the action of waiting on Me, trusting Me. So often, like Martha, you are careful and troubled by many things (Luke 10:41), and you immerse yourself in work, work, work. But I want you to remember that you can choose each day to be more like Mary – and that the most important job you have is to learn of Me. It is a different kind of action.
Being still, trusting Me, waiting on Me, standing back, and watching Me work for you can be so difficult to put into action. But these actions, these steps of faith, are vital to your spiritual strength! So come to Me! Be still and know that I am God! (Psalm 46:10) And let My peace fill your heart. Lay aside the weights and burdens that so easily beset you – and then you will have the strength you need to run the race set before you. (Hebrews 12:1)
