Think about every trial during which you’ve had to hold on to Me, every disappointment that almost crushed you, every tough job that you struggled through. Stop and think about the hard things in your life. Then realize that those who don’t have Me experience all these things just as you do, but without the reassurance of help from Me, or the comforting motivation that it will all work out all right in the end, or the promise that they will be rewarded and repaid.
Those who don’t know Me suffer from every blow of life with no consolation in sight. No matter how much people seem as if they don’t need Me, or even say that they don’t need Me, no one is immune to the trials of life. No one escapes having to do things they hate doing, or dealing with death and loss, or suffering ill health, mental affliction, heartbreak and disappointment—nobody. And without Me, without an understanding of My plan, these hardships and difficulties that are intended to mold and shape their lives avail little. They are more likely to see them as cruel fates in a cruel world with no reason whatsoever. I am the only one who can make sense of life. I am the great redeeming factor in the midst of all the seeming cruelties of human existence. I’m the one who makes the bad things good and brings beauty for ashes.
