Remember that I chose the weak things of the world to confound the mighty. (1 Corinthians 1:27) I know your frame – because I was tempted in all points just as you are. (Hebrews 4:14-15) I remember that you are dust. (Psalm 103:14) And of all the people on the earth, I have chosen you to be one of My disciples and witnesses to this dark world.
I know your thoughts – you think “who am I?” I know you feel that you are too old, that you are odd and unlovely. But I don’t want you to look inward at yourself and your failings – I want you to look to Me and know that I love you as you are. I take your clay vessel and I fill you with My Spirit – and the more you let Me fill you with My Word and My Spirit and the fruits of the Spirit, the more I will shine through you. So don’t be discouraged by your faults and failings – remember that I have chosen you. You are Mine! And the less there is of you, the more I will shine through you.
