You need to recognize these attacks for what they are – they are the dark thoughts that come from the devil. You feel hurt and mistreated – you feel slighted and that you aren’t loved or appreciated. But those are really lies from the Father of Lies. Whenever the enemy comes in with that lie again – you need to defeat him with the truth.
That’s why it is so important for you to take time each morning with Me – and to bring your battles and trials and questions and doubts to Me – so I can show you the truth. I will give you My Word of Truth which is the sword of the spirit. It is the one offensive weapon in your armor, and what you need to wield to defeat the lies of the enemy. That is why you should hide my Word in your heart, so you will always be ready to lift it up when the enemy comes in like a flood.
You have your daily battles, but I want you to think about the great testing and trial that I faced in the Garden of Gethsemane. And think of the saints also – who faced torture and death – but still refused to deny their faith in Me. Not everyone faces such great battles as that – but still you have your own battles where the enemy is seeking to get you to deny Me, to deny My truth and My promises to you. He always says – Hath God Said? He seeks to get you to deny your faith, to doubt My Word and My promises. So you need to recognize these attacks when they come. And then practice attacking them with My Word – tell him to get behind you. Rebuke him in My name – and he will flee from you. And wield the sword of the sprit – proclaiming My truth and standing on the rock of My promises to you.
