Remember the Sabbath

Oct 20, 2025 | Rest

I created you to need rest. Remember that even My Father God rested on the 7th day of creation.  He rested as an example to you that His Creation has a rhythm, a cycle of activity and rest, of work and relaxation.  Every day you also should have a balanced life – sufficient sleep, time to work and make progress on your projects, and to accomplish what I have called you to do that day.  And you need time to eat, to exercise, and to take care of yourself.  You also need to take time with Me – in communion and love. So you have a lot that you need to fit into a day – and you can so easily get out of balance with a big to-do list, and too many reminders.

Every day starts to bleed into the next one when you don’t take a day to rest.  You always have a to-do list, whether it’s Monday or Sunday – and this isn’t good for you.  You need to wake up at least one day a week and say to yourself, “There is nothing I need to do today except spend time resting and feeding my spirit.”

At least one day a week, you need to make an effort to stop, to go for a walk, to rest and do nothing but enjoy living.  You need to make this a habit in your life – to take a Sabbath each week, a day to rest.  You need to come to Me and let Me give you true rest – rest to your soul.  As I said in My Word, you have to strive to enter into My rest. (Hebrews 4:9-11) You have to make a conscious effort to set aside that one day each week, and to come away with Me and let Me refill you and strengthen you and to give you My peace that passes all understanding. (Philippians 4:7)
