When Paul was instructing Timothy he warned him not to entangle himself with the affairs of this life that he would please Me, because I had called Timothy to be a soldier of the faith. (2 Tim 2:4) I also told my disciples that if any man would come after Me, he should deny himself and take up his cross daily & follow Me. (Luke 9:23) That is still My instruction to you. Remember that I have called you to be soldier in My army – not an army of this world, but for my Heavenly Kingdom.
My kingdom is not of this world. (John 18:36) My Kingdom is not a worldly Kingdom, but My Kingdom is being built with living stones, the souls of all those who I have redeemed from the clutches of the enemy. (1 Peter 2:5)
More and more you are seeing the powers of darkness at work in the world – terrible wars, the slaughter of innocents and doctrines of devils. But this is the battle that I have called you to. I have called you to arise in the power of My Spirit and shine forth My Light. Put on the whole armor that I have given you! You already have the helmet of salvation, but you also need to take up the sword of the Spirit, My Word, and hold on firmly to the shield of faith, and most of all stay faithful to proclaim the gospel of peace. (Ephesians 6:11-17)
